Yoga for Arthritis

January 28, 2019, 10 AM-12 PM

Tanque Verde Lutheran Church (the chapel)

8625 E Tanque Verde Rd, 85749

Joint pain and inflammation plague all ages in our society but lifelong wear-and-tear on joints inevitably results in their structural deterioration, leading to pain and limited mobility.

When practiced appropriately, yoga and arthritis are perfect complements for improved joint health and overall wellness. Leave this workshop understanding:

  • how joints work.

  • what causes joint pain.

  • how yoga can improve joint health.

  • how to keep our practice (and daily movement!) safe and appropriate for our joints.

Piri-formance &

Spinal Health

January 12, 2019, 1-3 PM

The Yoga Connection

Treating sciatica and piriformis syndrome (AKA- Runner’s Butt!) is life changing and prevention is even better. In this 2-hour workshop, Sarah will share in-depth information about the causes of these prevalent issues (hint: we’re all candidates!) and yoga postures and posture series for both remedy and prevention. Focusing specifically on spinal health and the piriformis muscles of the pelvis, this workshop will blend learning with movement.

Extensive nursing experience and education as well as her experiences as a life-long athlete inform Sarah’s teaching of these common but preventable issues.

Healthy butts! No buts about it.

Yoga for Healthy Bones

September 26, 2019, 10 AM-12 PM

The BLOC Climbing, Fitness, & Yoga

Our bones are constantly in a state of flux – breaking down and building back up. While many lifestyle factors affect this cycle, researchers have found that yoga—when practiced appropriately and consistently—can actually increase bone density. This is great news!

Join me to learn more about bone health and how you can manage your yoga practice at home and in the studio in a safer, more (bone) constructive way.

Balancing Seven Chakras w/ Seven Senses

January 26, 2019, 1-3 PM

The Yoga Connection

The chakras – energetic centers in our bodies that affect all levels of our wellness – can be invigorated and balanced in many ways. In this workshop, we stimulate and soothe the chakras using the vibrational energies of the particular senses to which each are receptive. Incorporating meditation techniques, breath awareness (pranayama), and gentle asana, we will delve into the special characteristics of each chakra while awakening and clearing them using smell, taste, sight, touch, sound, color, and thought – seven senses for seven chakras! All level practitioners are welcome and encouraged to join in this unique method of bringing awareness and balance to these important centers of our wellness.
